Our First Book - Take The Field!
1/9
Launched in 2011, The Small Sports® is the creation of author and father of three, Matthew Damman and illustrator Patty Eisenbraun.
We created The Small Sports when we saw a lack of children's characters teaching kids (and adults!) about teamwork and good sportsmanship. We wanted to create Childrens Books On Sports.
So, we self-published two books, "Go For The Goal" and "Take The Field" which were true labor of loves - but we did it and we had a blast reading the books to local schools.
The books teach children values and lessons of sports and teamwork. Notably, in Go For The Goal the main character doesn't score a goal, all season! The story is about how she learns from that experience.
Our characters are youth soccer, football, baseball, basketball players and more - all kids will find fun with The Small Sports!
